Our Locations & People

The four locations on the map are a mixture of existing churches that have been meeting for years and new groups gathering to start a brand new church. Each group has young and old, families and singles. People born and raised in Houston and newcomers to the area. We are Christians—but today that's a loaded term. We follow simple, historic Christianity. But we want to help people see through the multitude of stereotypes that are common today. We believe and we see everyday that Jesus gives hope and changes peoples' lives.

Mark Sumpter is a pastor who lives in Richmond. He looks at the bigger picture of Houston and helps think about a strategy to continue to serve the people of Mark Sumpter Houston and become a part of other areas. Having been a pastor for 34 years, he has a heart for people and loves to hear peoples' stories. He is also gathering a group of people in Richmond for Bible studies and other informal times to hang out together. Born in Louisiana, raised in Alaska, and a stint in the Northwest of the US, Mark has got the map covered before coming to Houston.

In the Northwest, there is a church that started in 2009. The church Northwest church pastor has about 85 people, many living in the Cy-Fair area. The pastor is Robert Arendale who is from Nashville and lived in Charlotte before arriving in Houston. You can check out more about this particular church on their website: Cornerstone Website

In the Memorial area, Richard Colquitt is gathering a Richard Colquitt group of people for Bible Studies and informal time together (think food and time to talk and relax). Richard is a native of Houston and spent 29 years in law downtown. In 2011, sensing a desire and with churches confirming that desire, Richard became a pastor. He loves Houston and knows it like the back of his hand.

In Kingwood, we have another church that's been around the longest—since 2000. Similar to the Northwest, it's about 70 people. Kingwood church pastor Many enjoy living in the Kingwood area and quite a few commute out to the Energy corridor. The pastor of the church is Adam York. Adam is from Memphis.
